In this image there is a symbolism of beginnings and endings. The sun rises and hits the mountainside with colorful alpenglow just as the moon is about to disappear behind the peak. This photograph was taken after a full moon hike/climb of Marble Mountain in the Sangre de Cristo Range near the town of Westcliffe, Colorado. The mountain itself is an unnamed sub-peak of Marble Mountain.
