A soft pastel sunrise over Wild Basin in Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. The aspens were at their peak this morning along the peak to peak highway at an opening where Mt. Meeker, Pagoda, Chief's Head, and Mt. Alice come into view. I scoped out the composition the night before and found a great spot, but there were trees in the way of the scene. When I returned the next morning I actually brought a ladder and set it up in my truck bed and placed my tripod on top of the ladder in order to get a view above the trees. Other drivers along the road must have laughed and thought, "Look at that crazy guy taking pictures 20 feet in the air!"
